Our Story

Across rural Kenya, football is more than just a sport. It’s a lifeline. For many young people, especially in Western Kenya, the game offers hope, belonging, and a rare escape from the weight of poverty and limited opportunities.

The Problem.

Limited access to professional clubs, corruption in scouting, and lack of fallback plans have left many young men who put all their hopes in professional football unemployed and vulnerable.

The result is often devastating: unemployment, hopelessness, and in some cases, a descent into drugs, crime, or even suicide. Behind every lost dream is a story of a young person who simply needed a chance, a mentor, a skill, or a guiding hand.

Our Solution.

Our project exists to rewrite this story by transforming football from a fragile dream into a foundation for lifelong success.

We nurture talent, yes, but we go further. We mentor, educate, and equip young players with skills that empower them both on and off the pitch. Through our programs, they are better exposed to opportunities in football and ready to live purposeful lives beyond football.

Our theory of change is simple:

If young footballers are mentored, educated, and equipped with alternative skills, then they will be better prepared for life beyond football, reducing vulnerability to crime and mental health issues.
This will lead to empowered, self-reliant youth contributing positively to society.

Our programs are open to boys and girls aged 13–25 who are passionate about football, learning, and personal growth.

Not at all! We welcome youth of all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or already playing for a local club, NUTRA is about learning, teamwork, and self-improvement.

Yes! We provide mentorship, education support, and training in practical life skills — so that every participant can build a successful path beyond sports.
